Precious Island spent the whole of 2020 building our youth community, with eager students and activists joining our growing community from many parts of Indonesia, such as Bali, South Sumatra, West Kalimantan, West Java, and more. They are high schoolers, university students, and young professionals who are highly motivated to make a positive change in their community. From our time together with them, building ideas, and holding free webinars about SDGs, we were led to believe that Indonesia did not lack capable youth leaders who want to contribute to the global goals.

Objectives

• Establish a diverse and motivated youth community from various regions of Indonesia, including Bali, South Sumatra, West Kalimantan, and West Java, to foster positive change in their communities.
• Organize the Global Youth Conference on Sustainable Development Goals 2020 to highlight and celebrate the SDG accomplishments of Indonesian youth in schools, organizations, and communities.
• Encourage a firm resolution among the youth to continue contributing to the global goals despite the COVID-19 pandemic, with the conference serving as a milestone in the decade-long journey towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Indonesia.
